Reconciliation and Reunification Therapy
ATTCH offers reconciliation and reunification therapy to build and enhance relationships between children and their caregivers or family members following a lack of contact (through child welfare involvement, military involvement, work related absences, incarceration etc) or following significant life changes (such as separation and divorce). Format would typically consist of an initial intake meeting with both caregivers (arranged seperately), individual sessions with both the caregiver and child with joint sessions being arranged only when and if this is perceived safe to proceed with based on feedback from child, caregiver, and therapist observations. Expressive arts approaches are used to create a safe and gentle space for all involved in the process with a focus on communication, expression, and adjusting to life changes and circumstances. We also often include attachment enhancing approaches, which focus on strengthening of the attachment relationship. Overall this is meant to be a comfortable and strengths-focused process for all participants involved and typically the response to treatment is quite positive.
All staff are supervised by Lori Gill, ATTCH Founder and Lead Trauma Therapist, who is also a Certified Trauma Specialist, Trainer, and Consultant Supervisor. We are presently booking 2-3 weeks in advance with appointments being scheduled once all intake information is received by our office. Our hourly rate for reconciliation therapy is $150 and a retainer is required in advance of sessions beginning. There is a fee for completion of written reports as well as for any court involvement which is outlined in the contract for retained services.
