This workshop will provide an introduction to the foundations of trauma and attachment as they shape behaviour, perception, and relationships throughout the lifespan. Strategies for creating a trauma-informed school setting and an introduction to sensory intervention and research around the efficacy of this approach will also be provided.

- the impact of trauma and attachment on brain development, behaviours, and relationships throughout life
- implicit and explicit memory, how trauma impacts learning and attention
- common symptoms, themes, and behaviours of traumatized individuals
- differential diagnosis how trauma looks like but is different than ADHD, ODD, grief etc.
- trauma as a sensory experience
- providing sensory interventions
- how to help someone who has experienced trauma
- activities to enhance learning, increase attention, and reduce arousal levels
