3-Hour Workshop Applies to Certification - All Certification Streams $145 + HST
Yoga is a way for us to experience being in our physical body, aware of the present moment and breath. Yoga allows us to experiment with: breathing, grounding in the present moment, moving, strengthening, stretching and relaxation. This 3 hour workshop will identify the connection between the healing properties of yoga and how it can be incorporated safely for those who have experience trauma.
Through this training participants will gain knowledge of:
· The physiological, emotional and mental benefits of a yoga practice. · Which styles of yoga are best for healing trauma. · Why body-based work, such as yoga, may act as a treatment bridge, increasing a sense of awareness, safety and mastery over one's body. · How yoga can help to build skills to interpret and tolerate physiological and affective states. · Safety and limitations of a yoga practice for trauma survivors.
Next training scheduled for August 11, 2016 1:00 - 4:00 in St. Davids at our treatment centre. Trainings occur in St. Davids (Niagara-on-the-Lake).
